28/6/2008
At a distance of 14 kilometres away from Loutraki, and at an altitude of 700 metres, you will find the monastery of Osios (“the Blessed”) Patapios which was built in 1952. There, you can visit the cave where the holy shrine of Osios (“the Blessed”) Patapios (whose relics were found in 1904) is kept. Byzantine murals, dedicated to Osios (“the Blessed”) Patapios, Osia Ypomoni (St Patience) and Osios Nikonas (Holy Nikon the Metaniote) are still preserved in the interior of the cave.
